I grew up in Sheffield. I am
only Welsh by adoption'
If my parents had one motto,
it would be ‘owe no one anything’. They would have liked the Apostle Paul.
Dw i’n dwad o Sheffield yn
wreddiol. Dwi mond yng Nghymraeg trwy fabwysiad.
Os oedd gen fy rieni wedi cael
un arwyddair, saf ‘dyled I neb'. Byddent wedi hoffi'r Apostol Paul.
They would have like his
traditional teaching. Actually, I do too.
My mum had a postcard by the
sink in the kitchen. On the card, was a judge with a hammer pointing towards me
saying: ‘if you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough
evidence to convict you. It is an important question.
Byddent yn hoff o’i addysg
traddodiadol. Rydw I hefyd, mewn gwirionedd.
Roedd gan fy mam gerdyn post wrth
y sinc yn y gegin. Ar y cerdyn, roedd farnwr gyda morthwyl yn pwyntio tuag atyf
yn dweud: 'os cawsoch eich harestio am fod yn Gristnogol, a fyddai digon o
dystiolaeth i gael eich euogfarnu?’ Mae'n gwestiwn pwysig. Mae’n gwestiwn
diddorol.
Sometimes I wonder whether I
might actually get off.
Yes, the vicar said that.
Do you have times when you
struggle to pray?
Do you have times when the
Bible seems boring?
Weithiau, rydw i’n myfyrio ag
allai ei hosgoi?
Ie, dywedodd y ficer hynny.
A oes gennoch chi adegau
fyddwch chi'n ymdrech ar weddïo?
A oes gennoch chi adegau pan
mae'r Beibl yn ymddengys i fod yn ddiflas?
Learning anything is
difficult. Learning a language as well as learning to pray
You need to make time to learn
Learning involves making
mistakes
Learning involves being
vulnerable
Learning involves laughter and
a smile
The Church should be a place
where mistakes are made, people can be vulnerable, and each one of us is
embraced with a smile.
Mae dysgu unrhyw beth yn
anodd. Dysgu iaith yn ogystal â dysgu gweddïo
Mae angen ichi wneud amser i
ddysgu
Mae dysgu yn olygu gwneud
camgymeriadau
Mae dysgu yn olygu bod fregus
Mae dysgu yn cynnwys chwerthin
a gwên
Dylai'r Eglwys fod yn le lle gallai
camgymeriadau'n cael eu wneud, gall pobl fod yn bregus, ac mae pob un ohonom yng
nghael eu gofleidio â gwên.
